In a thrilling showcase of linguistic prowess, the Lincoln County Spelling Bee took place on Friday, February 9, 2024, featuring enthusiastic participants from Hershey, Brady, McDaid, Wallace, Maxwell, and Sutherland. The competition drew students from 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, creating an exciting atmosphere at the event.
The spellers went head to head within their respective grade levels, with the winners and runners-up advancing to the championship round. This final showdown included exceptional talents from all four grade levels.
Jozlyn Knepp from Hershey Public Schools, emerged victorious, clinching the title in the 6th-grade category and securing the grand champion title for the entire event. Jozlyn Knepp will represent Lincoln County in the prestigious Omaha Sports Commission Spelling Bee scheduled for Saturday, March 9, 2024.
The Omaha Sports Commission Spelling Bee is set to take place at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Janet A. and Willis S Strauss Performing Arts Center. The event promises to be a platform for top spellers to showcase their talents and compete at a higher level.
