Yesterday, our PK-3 grade students had an unforgettable experience visiting the Hershey Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD) as part of Fire Prevention Week. This annual visit provides not only an important educational opportunity but also a chance for our young learners to make rich, lasting memories.
Despite the windy and cold weather, the excitement wasn’t dampened as the students rode the bus to the fire station. Once there, they were greeted by the HVFD team, who spent the entire day teaching fire safety and prevention. The students were captivated by the demonstrations and learned about the importance of fire safety from the professionals who keep our community safe.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated HVFD staff, especially those who took the time to make the day so special: Ben Burkert, Toby Tobiasson, Alek Janecek, Amanda Snide, and Casey McGeeney. Your commitment to educating our students is deeply appreciated, and the joy and enthusiasm on their faces said it all!
This visit not only reinforces the crucial lessons of fire safety but also fosters meaningful connections with our local heroes. Thank you again to the Hershey Volunteer Fire Department for their continued partnership and dedication to our school community!
