Tuesday, November 5th, our school proudly hosted the Panthers’ Read Awards, honoring students who reached their Accelerated Reader (AR) milestones and achieved their reading goals for the first quarter. This inspiring event brought together students from all grades to celebrate their hard work and dedication to becoming better readers.
Certificates were awarded to students who reached key AR point milestones, recognizing achievements at 10, 20, 30, and 40 points. Special dog tags were given to students who went even further, earning 50, 100, 150, 200 points, and beyond. Additionally, a select group of exceptional readers joined the prestigious "Millionaires Club," a title reserved for students who have read one million words or more.
To support students’ growth as readers, K-2 students set monthly reading goals, while students in grades 3-6 set their goals each quarter. Teachers encourage students to set goals that are both realistic and challenging, considering their interests, daily reading time, and reading level.
Throughout the school year, students will continue working toward their individual goals. Those who reach their goals each month or quarter are invited to attend a special AR party at the end of the year, where we will celebrate their dedication and accomplishments.
As a fun addition to today’s ceremony, students who met their goals had their names entered into a drawing to participate in an exciting game of "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Cups." The game was a highlight of the day, filling the room with laughter and cheers as participants competed for the win.
A special note of appreciation goes to Mrs. Lindsay Stier for her time, effort, and dedication in organizing the Panthers' Read Awards Assembly. Her hard work and enthusiasm made this celebration possible, and we are grateful for her commitment to fostering a love of reading among our students. Thank you, Mrs. Stier, for making this event a memorable experience for all!
Congratulations to all our Panther readers on their achievements this quarter! We look forward to seeing even more students reach new reading milestones in the months to come. Keep up the great work, Panthers—your commitment to reading is inspiring!
