Hershey, NE — The students of 4A at Hershey Public School kicked off the week of November 11th with a heartwarming secret mission: to spread kindness throughout their school in celebration of World Kindness Day. Equipped with envelopes filled with ideas and small goodies to inspire their efforts, the students set out on a mission that would leave a lasting impact on their community.

Throughout the week, the students spread positivity in creative and thoughtful ways. They wrote kind notes, crafted heartfelt poems, and drew cheerful pictures. Compliments were given generously, and the students kept a watchful eye for classmates who might need a friend to play, eat, or work with, ensuring no one felt left out.

The kindness extended beyond their peers. Students took time to show appreciation for everyone who helps make their school a great place. Custodians, administrators, bus drivers, lunch servers, paras, teachers, office staff, and the school nurse all received tokens of gratitude from the thoughtful fourth graders.

The weeklong initiative was more than just an act of kindness—it was a valuable learning experience. The students discovered the profound impact of small, thoughtful gestures and how spreading kindness can create a ripple effect, bringing positivity back to the giver.

“We learned that kindness doesn’t have to be a big thing,” one student shared. “Even small acts can make someone’s day better.”

Inspired by their mission, the 4A students decided that every day should be World Kindness Day. Their efforts remind us all that kindness is a gift we can give freely, and its effects can be truly transformative.

As the students of 4A proved, a little kindness goes a long way in making the world a brighter, more welcoming place.
