Nebraska Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference (SLC) in 2021 went virtual. With the new format of the conference Hershey High School had two students participate in this event, Brooke and Brandy Bode. There are roughly 70 business related events a student can participate in. Each student can participate in a maximum of five events. The 2021 SLC results for Hershey are as follows:
- Brooke Bode-Accounting I-2nd place-qualifies for Nationals
- Brooke Bode-Business Communications-1st place-qualifies for Nationals
- Brooke Bode-Cyber Security-2nd place-qualifies for Nationals
- Brandy Body-Introduction to Business-2nd place-qualifies for Nationals
- Brandy Body-Introduction to Financial Math-Honorable Mention (Top 4%)
- Brooke Bode-Personal Finance-3rd place-qualifies for Nationals
- Brooke Bode-Job Interveiw-(168 students competed in this event)-3rd place-qualifies for Nationals
When a student places in the top 3 of the event they qualify for the National Leadership Conference (NLC). This year the event will be held virtually. Brooke and Brandy will compete at NLC virtually June 7-11. This is the second time that Hershey High School has qualified students to FBLA’s National Leadership Conference. Their adviser, Cynthia Elliott, is extremely excited and proud of their efforts!
