Dear Panther Parents & Students,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer! Hershey Public Schools will hold its annual PK-6 Open House on Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 6:30-7:30 PM. This will be an excellent opportunity for parents and children to meet their children’s teacher, ask any questions that they might have regarding the upcoming school year, and for the students to see their classrooms.
All Hershey enrolled, school-aged children, who attend the PK-6 Open House will receive a certificate that can be redeemed for one small ice cream cone at Dairy Queen. We are extremely thankful for the gracious donation from the North Platte Dairy Queen location.
The district’s bus drivers, school nurse, guidance counselor, SPED teacher, and Title I teacher, will be available during the Open House night.
School Nurse: Encourages parents to stop by the nurses office and sign appropriate paperwork for any prescribed medication that may need to be administered throughout the school day. Your child’s medication may also be dropped off that evening, in the original bottle
Bus Drivers: Would love to introduce themselves to new and or old families, allow their child to see what the inside of a bus looks like, offer pick-up & drop-off times, and answer any questions that you may have
Guidance Counselor: Visit with or relay any concerns that they may have for their child
Title I: Parents will have the ability to sign eligible children up for Math & Reading supports, according to test scores
SPED: Visit with or answer any questions you may have with your child’s IEP services
I encourage families to visit our school’s website (https://www.hpspanthers.org) to find important documents for the upcoming school year. Please click the Menu icon in the top right corner of the page, and refer to the “Students” and or “Parents” columns for items such as: class supply lists, student handbook, announcements, powerschool parent, and lunch balance.
The first day of school for K-6 is Monday, August 16, 2021. School hours for the first day are from 8:15-11:30 AM . The school doors unlock at 7:50 AM and buses will run their AM/PM routes accordingly.
I hope all of you enjoy the rest of your summer with family and friends. We are looking forward to a tremendous school year! Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all children.
Educationally,
Jared Thomsen
Elementary Principal
